A fast melt of feet of snow that combine rushing rivers that cause massive waterfalls! April can also bring some spectacular Northern Lights that dance overhead for those with insomnia to enjoy.

USS Cleveland hits tug in Marinette

The USS Cleveland encountered an issue during its sidewash-launch when it collided with a tugboat. The incident occurred at the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin, where the Freedom-variant of the Littoral Combat Ship are constructed. The U.S. Navy issued a statement confirming that the ship made unintended contact with the supporting tug during the launch, resulting in minor damage to the USS Cleveland above the waterline. No personnel were harmed, and there was no flooding. The Navy spokesperson attributed the incident to a “miscommunication” that caused the tugboat’s proximity to the ship.
