Things not to say to Law Enforcement: 1. I can’t reach my license unless you hold my beer. 2. Sorry, Officer, I didn’t realize my radar detector wasn’t plugged in.. 3. Aren’t you the guy from the Village People? 4. Hey, you must’ve been doin’ about 125 mph to keep up with me! Good job! 5. You’re not gonna check the trunk, are you? 6. I pay your salary! 7. So, uh, you on the take, or what? 8. Gee, Officer! That’s terrific. The last officer only gave me a warning, too! 9. Do you know why you pulled me over? Okay, just so one of us does.

A solid night offensively. A shut down night defensively. An eight game winning streak. Things are starting to come together once again for the eighth ranked Munising boys basketball team. For the second year, the Natural Resources class is preparing for another smolt release this spring and would like to continue expanding the curriculum and the partnership by engaging students at the Munising Middle-High School in hands-on water quality studies of the local Lake Superior Watershed, including the Anna River and its tributaries. Science teacher Hilary Ludecke is working with the Rotary International Club of Munising, the Alger Conservation District (ACD), and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) to raise Chinook Salmon In The Classroom. In order to conduct these hands-on studies Mrs. Ludecke and the students need to raise enough money to purchase a classroom set of Vernier probes and sensors, as well as software to analyze the data collected, and much more. To donate contact Hilary Ludecke at hilary.ludecke@mps-up.com Alger County Animal Shelter

The 2023/2024 Munising middle school competetive cheer team is learning how to work as a team. Competetive cheer is a demanding sport, even at the middle school level. These athletes have done a great job this year learning the sport, skills, and technique. We have 3 returning girls and 6 first year girls so it is definitely a building year for our program. We work closely with our varsity team. This is my second year coaching and while it is demanding it is also very rewarding. We placed 3rd at the manistique invitational and I am proud of the performance these girls put on the mat. Go mustangs!
