Shingleton William “Bill” Marvin Somerville, Jr., age 74, of Shingleton, died peacefully in his sleep following a lengthy illness on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at his home. Private family services will be held, services are in care of Bowerman Funeral Home.

Hey, Hey Grand Marais! Spring is in the air, according to the calendar anyways, and the Music Festival line-up is complete. The line-up for the Grand Marais 41st Music & Crafts Festival will be jam packed with great talent and full-bodied energy. Thursday, August 10th kicks off the festival with our FREE night of entertainment from 8pm till 11pm, featuring the band “28 Days”. They come to us from the Windy City and they will blow in with high energy performances of songs we all know and love to move to! From 70s, 80s, 90s, Pop, Rock, Country & Top 40 they sing it all, so don’t forget your dancing shoes.
