Finlandia Closes Out Season On Road

Sophomore Montez Archer had a school record and a program first as the Finlandia University football team (0-6 UMAC, 0-10) lost 45-7 to Greenville (4-1 UMAC, 6-3), Saturday afternoon at Francis Field.

Norse men’s basketball starts strong

The Bay College Men’s Basketball Team (2-0) started their season off strong this past weekend beating Harper College (1-3) by a score of 97-66 and Gogebic Community College (1-1) by a final of 8753. The games were part of the first of three classic tournaments the Norse are hosting this season.

Munising murder trial continues

Earlier this week, mostly forensic information came from the prosecution, namely pathologist George Krzymowski. The doctor confirmed that Mozader died from “asphyxia from aspiration of blood”, meaning he drowned on his own blood.

Cougars perform at NMU Band Day

The Superior Central Marching Band joined 16 other schools from Michigan and Wisconsin at the Northern Michigan University Band Day on Saturday, Oct. 29. It was the third year in a row for the Cougars to perform in the mass band exhibition.

Cougars advance to finals over Munising

The Superior Central Cougars are moving on after a dramatic 3-1 victory over rival Munising in the District 101 volleyball semifinals on Wednesday, November 2. Numerous volleys lasted over a minute in each set before the Cougars took the victory.

Munising School Public Library notes

North Shore Needles, the library knit and stitch group will start meeting again at the library on Fridays at 10 am. Bring your knitting, crochet work, embroidery or whichever needle project you are working on and join in on the conversation. The library carries Interweave Knits Magazine and has numerous other resources to help you grow as a needle artist if you are just starting out. Don’t forget that the library also needs donated items for the Mitten and Hat Tree in December—a perfect opportunity to use your needle skills.

Playoff tickets must be purchased online Due to MHSAA regulations, no cash admission will be accepted for any postseason football games. The policy is regardless of any operating procedures used by Munising Public Schools due to MHSAA operating the state championship tournaments.
