Mather Elementary’s third grade students explored architecture with KEVA planks (a wooden construction toy) this year. Each third grade class used KEVA planks to explore construction of different structures throughout the school year. The students were excited to have the opportunity to build both in math class and during inside recess.

The Superior Central softball team put the finishing touches on a fantastic regular season with a sweep over their rival on Thursday, May 23. The Lady Cougars were playing at Munising, where they won on scores of 11-0 (four innings) and 23-2 (three innings).
The Munising tennis team traveled to Ishpeming on Friday. The Mustangs and Hematites were originally scheduled to play a regular match, but shifted things up with host Ishpeming to focus on getting ready for the post-season.
The Superior Central baseball team traveled to Escanaba on Monday, May 20. The Cougars fell behind early, and were unable to regroup, falling 8-1.

The Skyline Central Conference championship was held at Stephenson on Tuesday, May 21. Munising was able to once again crown their boys’ team as champions, as they won the meet; giving them their third straight league championship. The Lady Mustangs had a solid showing as well, coming in sixth place out of 12 teams; while Superior Central had their boys come in seventh and their girls place 12th.
