Munising softball tames Stephenson to get first wins

Playing in their home opener on Heroes Field on Monday, the Munising softball team picked a perfect time to have some of their best play of the season. On a pleasant early spring evening they defeated visiting Stephenson in both games, 17-12 and 19-4; their first wins of the season and their first home victories since 2021.

Superior Central plays to split with Forest Park

Hosting Crystal Falls Forest Park in a pair of Skyline Central Conference games, the Superior Central softball team was hoping to keep their hot streak going. The Lady Cougars were able to do just that early on, winning game one 13-5, but they cooled off in game two, falling 11-6.

Rev. Christina “Tina” Robb

Rev. Christina “Tina”Robb, age 71, quietly passed away at 3:30pm on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the MediLodge Nursing Center of Munising. She had resided at MediLodge with her husband Jim by her side since May of 2023. Tina is now pain free and in the arms of Jesus at peace.

Ruth M. Carr

Military honors and graveside prayers for Ruth Carr will be held on Friday, May17, 2024 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Carr died on November 28, 2023 at the age of 102. Her completed obituary may be found at bowermanfuneralhome.net

Darci Jean Tyner

Graveside services for Darci will be conducted by Pastor Ted Jolls at the Limestone Township Cemetery in Limestone, Michigan on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. Darci died on February 18, 2024 at the age of 48.
