Tom and Amie Nolan of Munising are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Taylor Swartz, to George Kanyuh. George is the son of George and Lisa Kanyuh of Rapid River.

As winter settles in and temperatures drop, ice climbers from across the globe are preparing for the highly anticipated Michigan Ice Fest, set to take place in Munising from Feb. 11 to 16.

After muddling through the opening quarter, the Munising girls basketball team got back on track. Playing at Newberry on Jan. 30, the Mustangs overcame an early hole to pick up a 61-38 non-conference win.
