The Michigan State Police have introduced a new initiative to get ahead of targeted acts of violence called STOP A PLOT. The campaign encourages residents to recognize the warning signs of suspicious behavior and report it.
The public library has spent the past week celebrating Intellectual Freedom. Everyone deserves the right to read freely and have access to library materials that engage and inspire them to learn and grow. Supporting libraries in making materials available for all users is one of the best ways for you to support Intellectual Freedom.

In their lone action during the week, the Munising tennis team made the trip to Negaunee on Thursday, September 19. The Lady Mustangs dropped the match unfortunately, with a final score of 7-1.

This past weekend on September 22, Alger County Communities that Care (AC3) held a pro-social barn dance at the Northern Michigan State University North Farm for the second year in a row. Fun was had by all ages from infants to the elderly. The event’s purpose is to encourage socialization among the community and to just have fun.
Playing a crucial Northern Lights League soccer game at Big Bay de Noc on Tuesday, September 17, Munising Baptist knew it had to play well from the start. A pair of early goals by Big Bay put the Bobcats behind early, and they were never able to recover, and while they eventually tied things up, they lost 4-3 in a shootout.
All five sets went back and forth. The final frame narrowly went in favor of visiting Superior Central, as they outlasted Bark River Harris on Thursday, September 19; 15-25, 2520, 25-17, 23-25 and 16-14.
On Wednesday, September 18, all three sets against Rock Mid-Pen went in favor of Munising. As a result, the Lady Mustangs were able to pick up a rather quick non-conference volleyball win with scores of 25-14, 2515 and 25-21.
