Munising School Public Library will be closed May 27-29 for the Memorial Day weekend and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tues., May 30. Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day and hearty congratulations go out to all of the area graduates.

As the days get longer and warm weather returns, drivers should expect an increase in motorcyclists on Michigan roadways, state officials advise. With that in mind, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson this week reminded motorists to be alert and attentive about motorcyclists as she relaunched the Michigan Department of State’s annual “Look Twice.

The Alger County Fair received a grant to help renovate the horse arena on the western side of the fairgrounds. The grant will help pay for $24,388 worth of resetting the arena’s surface.

Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) is announcing the company’s boat launch facility at Dam No. 4 on the Boney Falls reservoir will be temporarily closed to the public on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023. The closure is required to support planned maintenance and facility improvements that are being completed by UPPCO this summer. Access to the campground that is located near Dam No. 4 will remain open but will be delayed at times.
